This session will discuss what can happen if you don't have a defensible disposition program and the risks that exist with over retaining records, not knowing what you have, and information getting into the wrong hands .We will give some examples of information that should have been deleted being exposed and causing multi- million dollar fines and hits to the company's reputation .
Fred A. Pulzello, MBA, CRMFred A. Pulzello, MBA, CRM is a Past President of ARMA International and is a highly-regarded, dynamic leader with expertise in Information Governance and Data Privacy. Fred is co-creator of, and chaired the task force that developed the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles®. He was awarded a US patent for developing a transformative mail stream hardcopy digital conversion process.
Fred is a leader in the information governance field with a strong background in financial services. Fred was recently a Managing Director of the Global Records Management Office at BNY Mellon. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he consulted with Fortune 500 clients on enterprise-wide records and information governance programs and served as Executive Director and Global Corporate Information Manager for Morgan Stanley. Fred is a certified Records Manager (CRM) and was one of the first to achieve the Information Governance Professional (IGP) certification. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Seton Hall University and a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Manhattan College. He is a frequent speaker and presenter at ARMA, MER, AIIM, and LegalTech conferences.
Ronald R. SodanoRonald R. Sodano is a former archivist and is a highly-regarded records manager with over 35 years of records management/records declassification experience. Ron received an Archivist Award for declassifying and preparing the records of the House Select Committee on Assassinations for public release.
Ron is a leader in the information governance field with a strong background in records management. Prior to joining Iron Mountain as a Senior Consultant, he consulted with various federal agencies such as the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of the Navy and the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense to solve their various records management problems and concerns. Ron was a former archivist at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), and worked in various capacities in the Records Declassification Division and the Freedom of Information/Privacy Act Office at NARA. Ron spent nearly nine years as an archivist at the Nixon Presidential Materials Staff in which he helped to declassify President Nixon’s National Security Council Files, processed the Henry A. Kissinger Telephone Conversations and reviewed the Nixon White House Tapes for public release.
Ron earned a bachelor’s degree in historical studies from Stockton University. In his spare time he enjoys reading and disturbing his neighbors playing bass guitar.
